Programs

The GW Office of International Medicine Programs (IMP) is a leader in international medical education and training. We offer programs for both GW and international students and scholars on campus in Washington, DC and across the globe. Knowing that international experience plays an increasing role in the personal and professional development of future medical leaders, IMP is one of the oldest institutions to offer clinical electives, residencies, observerships, and fellowships that cover undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral levels. GW medical scholars return from time abroad, whether in rural clinics or urban hospital settings, with a deeper understanding of complex global health issues and hands-on experience in their fields. International medical scholars gain similar expertise and invaluable motivation to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the medical and healthcare needs of their home country.

Explore each program for more information on the curriculum, eligibility requirements, and admissions process.

IMP will also host an informational webinar on February 15th to highlight the programs currently accepting applications, 1) the Summer Research and Medical Enrichment Program for current non-US medical students and 2) the Medical Research Fellowship Program for international medical graduates. Please register at this link to receive the Zoom information before the webinar.
